  1. I decided to go with a natural lip gloss for when my daughter first started wanted to wear makeup. I got for her the Somaluxe Raspberry Red Lip Gloss – and she loves it!! It comes in a cute jar, and it doesnt have any chemicals in it. The red is like a tint – not too much – perfect for a new teenager.

  2. Unofficially, 6 or years old.- playing with my mother’s cosmetics. Officially at 16 years old when my mother said i could actually go outside with makeup on my face – lol.

  3. I would use lipbalm and gloss (with pinkish tones) since 7/8 years…when i was 14 i learned how to use eyeliner and from them on I grew up on the makeup department to pretty much everything. But as a ballerina since 3yrs old I have always used makeup.

  4. My mom wouldn’t let me until I was a Freshman in high school, and even then it was only mascara and moisturizer. I think this was really smart because it helped me to be comfortable and confident in my own skin! And I also didn’t clog up my pores with foundation that I didn’t need and I didn’t strip away at my skin with harsh cleaners. My momma was definitely smart in what she taught me about makeup.

  5. Age 13 (lipstick and eyeliner). Though my mum did let me wear a lip balm with very subtle sparkle in it when i was 11…

  6. If it was up to my Father I would have never worn makeup. He always reassured my sister and I that “you don’t need that gunk on your face!!”. I did have to start applying the gunk on for the high school dance team I started my freshman year. This transitioned me into wearing light makeup outside of performances such as mascara, or sometimes blush (on extra special days). Today, I am still confident in my natural beauty, sticking to slim or no makeup. Thanks to a dad who also always said “that gunk will only cover your girls’ pretty faces”.

  7. I started wearing makeup (just clear mascara at first) in middle school. I didn’t do it because I hated my skin or the way I looked, but because I enjoyed learning and experimenting with how I could highlight my natural beauty.
