Continued from the series, Meet the Personas…
She walks with a slight hop in her step, shoulder blades back, concentrated. A nutrition bar in her purse and day-planner in hand, she truly “has it all together.”
Some women stand out in grade school as future CEOs. You find them telling the other students “what the teacher said” and calling all to obedience. The Achiever sees the world as a place for potential, and herself being an active participant, a valuable commodity, and an instrument in making the world turn. Business, systems, organization and entrepreneurial adventures excite her.
The Achiever believes each woman fills a need in this world that no one else can. Whether organized or messy, introverted or extroverted, a leader or a follower, we all need to kindle the “achiever spirit” within. The Achiever believes women need to discover the unique ways they have been gifted, and what career can fully bring out these strengths. After all, a job isn’t “just a job.” Yes, we should be entirely grateful we have work, but also not settle for less. She doesn’t want us to only say, “It pays the bills,” but wants women to thrive in their work, and feel excited every morning because they get to go to work.
Also, she sees a lack of education for women in our generation on “real life,” namely, the “advice that no one ever tells you in school” on balancing priorities, boundaries, time management or how to manage money well. There is freedom in living a disciplined and intentional life.
Whether you’re already a powerful achiever, or one who needs to re-ignite their dormant achiever spirit, here you will find passion to embark on a meaningful journey. Start a revolution, open a business or join a team—be a part of something bigger than yourself. After all, power and influence should be used for the good of others, not selfish ends. Sweetness coupled with power is the mark of a true leader who people want to follow.
“The highest reward for man’s toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it.” – John Ruskin
