I am the wayfaring dreamer,
treading upon
unseen lands,
a wind blown vagabond
upon foreign
soils.
I am a voyager lost
in uncharted seas,
as AWOL as the sonnets
of the birds
on a slumbering winter night.
Even should you wish to come
and find me,
there is no map
made,
that could show you the way,
to the home I have made up
in the sky.
For I am both
the nostalgic photographs
of black and white
pasts,
and the starry eyed utopian
chasing heaven
on earth.
My pillow only answers
to the places I have
been,
and waits
in anticipation of where I’ll go
next.
I am the cloud-watching imagination,
spinning
always spinning,
romantic novels
from the pen in my heart,
which composes
sweet rhapsodies for my ears
and my ears
only.
Watch as I dance back
into stored away memories,
inhabiting them
once again,
if only just for a little
while longer.
You see
the present is fine,
and I’m sure
not so bad, but
the past and the future
is where my dreams lie,
For there
I can be whoever
I want
to be.
