This year for me, less was more when it came to Fashion Week. In previous years, we have run all over town to every show at New York Fashion Week, and it is exhausting, and truthfully, it leaves my mind spinning. Our approach this year was to take on much less and really try to connect with what we were experiencing.
Below are five inspiring ideas from this year’s New York Fashion Week. The idea is to find something easy that the average woman can do to up her style game this year.
1. Mix and match your patterns.
We love this look from Kate Spade – it totally inspires us to mix and match our suiting for a playful menswear look.
2. Try Turquoise.
We loved this bold eyeshadow choice from the Mara Hoffman presentation. It felt so fresh and 70s inspired in just the right way.
If you’re feeling even bolder, go for a Turquoise suit to match.
3. Try a tassel!
Tassels showed up at both Kate Spade and Sarah Seven. We love the bit of polish they add to each outfit. It reminded me to try adding a tassel to a bag I already own with one of these.
4. Wear all the same color!
The key to this one is to mix up the texture – a chunky sweater plus some drapey pants, or a silky top with a jacquard skirt. We loved these monochromatic looks from Lela Rose.
5. Mix red and pink for a fun pop.
Kate Spade and Sarah Seven had the right idea on this one. It felt fresh and so fun.
Which of these would you add to your style routine?
