DARLING DINNER NO. 16

Darling Dinner No. 16 deemed to be our first Darling Dinner in Seattle. It was a beautiful evening with charming lights and dreamy table settings all held at The Makers Space in the heart of Seattle. Chef Meredith Abbott did a wonderful job of combining skill and passion to create a light and fresh colorful menu. The night was filled with flower arrangements and blossoms of Butter and Bloom. Guests mingled and strolled through the glowing light of the sunset with cocktails and wine cradled in their hands.
Darling Dinners evoke conversations that dig deep and provide a space for inspiration. The table question for our Seattle Darling Dinner No. 16 was themed around joy and where our joy is rooted. It was beautiful to see a room full of women from all over Seattle, near and far, come together and pour into each other. Through the laughs and stories shared at dinner, Darling’s mission came to life. These dinners allow for Darling to be much more than a magazine, but a community and a place for women to learn and grow from each other. Photos were captured by the talented vision of Grace Kim . DARLING DINNER NO. 17

Tuesday, May 19th was a night filled with joyful conversations, local ingredients, and Oregon wine at Darling Dinner No. 17. The glow from downtown LA spilled into the crisp white room where women mingled with farmers market quesadillas and refreshing Union Wine Rosé Margaritas. We had the pleasure of co-hosting this gathering with Soda Pop PR and were able to immerse in an experience that not only stimulated our taste buds, but also our minds with engaging interactions and stories amongst a diverse group of women.

Sarah of La Femme Epicure, who focuses on sourcing seasonally and locally ingredients, crafted delicious food using generously donated produce from Farmbox LA. Guests were served a colorful watermelon and beet gazpacho followed by a refreshing pulled chicken salad and a sprouted brown rice and quinoa with toasted pecans and cherries. For dessert, guests enjoyed a sleek plate of crème chantilly topped with local peaches, delicate flowers, and broken meringue. Each course came with a suggested wine pairing from Union Wine Company.
Once everyone was seated at the tables sprinkled with flickering candles and blooming flowers, Ryan Harms, the owner of Union Wine Company guided guests through a series of wine tastings. Rosé, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay were amongst some of the flavorful wines that were discussed and tasted. Each Darling Dinner provides a table question to encourage intentional conversation and prompt a genuine connection between guests. This evening, guests partook in this Darling Dinner’s table question about summertime joy. Conversations of passions, dreams, and summer joys floated from table to table. It was a memorable night curated by Kara Elise where women came together to share inspirations and unite in community over honest conversations and delicious food. Bryan Dale framed this charming dinner by capturing the most genuine and beautiful moments of the night with his talented photography.
DARLING DINNER NO. 18

Darling was welcomed with open arms at their first Darling Dinner in Nashville on Thursday, May 21st. It was a cool night filled with some of the most creative minds in Tennessee. The dinner took place at the rustic cozy backyard of the jean and clothing shop, Imogene+Willie, a must for any Nashville explorer. Megan, Jamie, and Caroline, the three beautiful ladies of 12th Table, crafted this timeless experience with tones of deep navy and white. Their eye for Nashville’s character truly came alive at this Darling Dinner.
Underneath the strings of glowing lights guests were greeted with oysters and a pea & radish tart by chef, Julie Sullivan. For the first course, she served a delicious chilled spring onion soup with pickled chive blossoms and olive oil croutons. The main course consisted of a baby greens salad with candied pecans, roasted carrot salad, and smoked trout with grilled asparagus. With the glow of the candlelight, guests enjoyed shortbread and strawberries with rosewater and pistachios & cream for dessert. Wine and cocktails were curated by Robin Jones of Raising the Glass with alcohol generously supplied by Art in the Age. The table question for this Darling Dinner center around joy. It sparked genuine conversation and an inspiring energy that Darling strives to cultivate not only in the magazine, but in events like these as well. The table question is where the mission of Darling comes alive.
DJ Russ Pollard provided the perfect backyard dinner party music. Paper goods for the dinner were designed by Lauren Ledbetter. The fulfillment of intentional conversation and honest beauty of this memorable night was captured by the ever so talented husband and wife duo, Brad and Jen, from Q Avenue Photo. Curation of this Nashville Darling Dinner was beautifully executed by the passionately creative Kara Elise.
DARLING DINNER NO. 19

San Diego has a magnetic energy that sparks the inspiration to create. Darling Dinner No. 19 was filled with women who cultivate fresh creativity, passionate drive, and honest community. A MIHO Experience did an amazing job catering an unforgettable experience for our guests with intentionality and class at the beautiful Moniker Warehouse located in the upper east village district of downtown San Diego. Adore Folklore Vintage Rentals furnished the warehouse space with furniture that would make you feel like you were walking in a dream.
Guests strolled into a large dining room where a flower installation of each of the Darling personas created and styled by Layered Vintage cascaded along the entire wall. Hostess Haven prepared dreamy table tops with antique features and romantic colors. Each table was adorned with tall vintage candle holders from elegant touches of the local San Diego company, Often Wander. The Vetted Table, by A MIHO Experience, catered the night with braised artichoke salad, herbed goat cheese gnudi, and salt roasted marble potatoes. Family style plates were passed from woman to woman just like the stories they shared.
Conversation flowed and guests sipped hand crafted drinks served by the charming Barcon Cocktail Co. A San Diego local company, Malahat Spirits Co., contributed to the drinks for the night. Wine for the dinner was provided by Union Wine Co. and photos by Arielle Vey.
The focus of Darling Dinners is to bring women together in beautiful spaces. This night’s table question centered around discussing which Daring persona are you:
“I embody each of the personas depending on what I’m doing in my life. For me, I seek a balance in embodying all of these personas.”

With eight different personas embodying the soul of Darling, it was an opportunity for guests to identify with the personas.

Nic Roc Designs created wooden laser cut herb garden picks as favors for each guest to take home and use. The evening was captured by the bubbly and ever so talented photographer, Arielle Vey. The beautiful calligraphy and illustrations for the dinner were hand drawn by Michaela Shallenberger of Studio Vonberg. The event curator was the lovely Kara Elise who truly made the evening about the art of being a woman.
