Imagine getting dressed in the 40s and 50s. It was such an extensive, particular process with so many aspects to an outfit. Yet over the decades, fashion for women has changed in many ways.
I’m going to be completely honest: I’ve always slightly judged people who ran marathons. I viewed them as “overachievers” and thought: Why on earth would you do that?
I’ll be honest, it’s very hard for me to relax. When people tell me they watched six hours of “Friends” re-runs on the weekend I ask “how?” I can’t even sit through an entire movie—my husband has to pause it five times while go get water, snacks, lip gloss, fuzzy socks and the like.
Did you know that statistically as humans we think about ourselves 90% of the time? It makes sense though; we have to be inside our own head and body all day, every day—moving and talking and thinking at a rapid pace; we are truly little miraculous engines. Reading this statistic prompted me to think deeper about my own relationship with selfishness in relation to others and hence came the theme: SELFLESSNESS.
As the founder of Darling, I want to give a special message today to the mothers out there, including my own: You are seen, you are loved and all your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed.
